Anfi was created by Björn Lyng, founder of a successful Norwegian industrial engineering company – the Lyng Group.In 1988 the Vacation Membership resort Anfi del Mar was carved out of the volcanic rocks on the island's south west coast of Mogán. Over a period of 10 years Anfi del Mar's four Clubs were constructed in sequence, the first one opening in 1993.
Luxury apartments, swimmmng pools, restaurants, a man-made island, bridge, tropical gardens and 80-berth marina were constructed using recycled materials - in harmony with the natural surroundings. In addition, 11,000 tonnes of white Caribbean sand were remarkably imported for Anfi's beach.

In 2002, construction began on Anfi Tauro Golf & Luxury Resorts, the most recent resort development comprising several plots of luxury freehold villas, town houses, apartments, and top-class Vacation Membership Clubs. Anfi Tauro will offer a stunning oasis for year-round golf. Its two distinguished golf courses have been designed by world leading golf course developers Von Hagge, Smelek and Baril.
